Padel Beginner Pack

Your knockout bracket, drawn.

Add 4 to 32 pairs, set courts and match length, and get a seeded bracket, a court-and-time schedule and sheets to print for your year-end tournament.

Names, seeds, courts and times

Add #1, #2 after a name to seed it. Seeded pairs get the byes and are kept apart. Unseeded pairs are drawn at random.

The break is the changeover on each court and the least rest any pair gets between its matches.

    How the draw works

The bracket rounds up to the next size: 8, 16 or 32 places. Empty places become byes, and byes go to the top seeds, so seed 1 and seed 2 skip the opening round when there are byes to give.

Seeds sit on the standard grid. Seed 1 and seed 2 can only meet in the final, seeds 1 to 4 can only meet from the semi-finals on, and seed 1 plays the lowest-ranked pair in round one.

    Year-end week, 27 December to 3 January

Set day one and the schedule shows weekday dates. If play runs past midnight the times carry on into the next date, and you get a note on how many courts finish before 00:00.

    Byes by number of pairs

Single elimination always takes one match fewer than the number of pairs. Byes cost no court time.

    Bracket questions

How many pairs can I enter?
From 4 to 32. Type names one per line, or pick the number of pairs and the tool fills in Pair 1, Pair 2 and so on.
    How do byes work?
The bracket rounds up to 8, 16 or 32 places and every empty place is a bye. Byes go to the top seeds. With 11 pairs the bracket has 16 places, so 5 pairs skip the first round.
    How do I seed pairs?
Type #1, #2 and so on after a name. Seeded pairs sit on the standard grid so the strongest pairs meet as late as possible. Pairs without a seed are drawn at random into the open places.
What does the consolation bracket do?
Pairs that lose their first match drop into a second bracket and keep playing. When the draw has byes, round-two losers drop too, because a pair with a bye has not played yet. Every pair then plays at least two matches.
    How is the schedule built?
A match starts on the first free court once both of its earlier matches have ended and the break has passed. The main final starts last. A pair is never on two courts at once and always gets at least the break between its matches.
Can I print the bracket and a score sheet?
Yes. Choose A4 or Letter, then print the bracket or the score-entry sheet, which has a line per match with room for three sets. Download CSV gives one row per match.
    Are results saved?
Only if you tick Save results on this device. They stay in your browser, and Clear results and saved copy removes them.
What if play runs past midnight?
Times carry on into the next date. A note shows how many courts would finish before midnight so you can add a court or start earlier.
